If you want to be in property development then it seems that the East Midlands are the place to be.
Here, asking prices rose by 1.5 per cent in August but that was not reflected across the rest of the country where there has been a downward trend over the last couple of months.
Most sellers slashed their prices over the summer as fewer people were on the lookout for property and more houses were on the market. The number of people struggling to get a mortgage is not helping either.
But although the national picture does not look good, things in the East Midlands seem to be on the up.
