This is one of the last remaining undeveloped sites in the historical city centre of Norwich abutting the River Wendell.
The site has an existing planning permission for a residential development of 22 very large flats above a ground floor restaurant/bar. The permission is protected as it forms part of a larger site of which a major element has been built and archaeological work on the whole site had been completed by the previous owner. Wharfside have now cleared the site and are seeking an improved planning permission for a higher density geared to owner/occupiers. The much improved design is supported by the Norwich City Design Committee and planners. The revised scheme still includes ground floor riverside restaurants.
In the interim, during the downward cycle of the residential market, Wharfside have temporarily let the cleared site to a national car park operator until such time as they believe the market will support their proposed new development.
