We have access to some of the best talent for contemporary architecture, engineering and design.
The regeneration of our inner cities remains an important policy of Government and local authorities. There is demand to see innovative mixed-use development take place on ex-industrial, contaminated and under-utilised brown-field sites throughout the UK. It is our quest to meet this demand and our innovation is in seeing potential in often difficult circumstances.
Not only do we locate these sites; we assess the needs of the local community, by consistently tracking changes in planning policy and demographic trends, and develop in line with these needs.
Our planning skills, imaginative development solutions and attention to detail in our technical assessments are the foundations of Wharfside Regeneration.
The recession since 2009 reduced the scope of many developers through lack of finance and reduction in demand. Nevertheless, we are still working on opportunities and taking projects forward as shown with our major scheme at Derriford Hospital in Plymouth where we completed the first phase and delivered a multi storey car park of 627 spaces along with 9,000 sq ft of modern offices, both let to Plymouth Hospitals Trust and also 8,000 sq ft of retail space. The investment was sold to Aviva Investors Ltd.
Wharfside acquired the 16 acre brown field site in 2006 and has carefully negotiated with the Hospital Trust, local authority and general public, to deliver a major new facility for the hospital and its visitors. Wharfside has now sold their interest in the remaining 14 acres to Aviva and are retained as Development Managers. The next phases include a Planned Care Centre of 120,000 sq ft and replacement offices for the Trust alongside a staff car park. Further phases will follow to include care, residential and more retail.
